Junior High Coach

Job Description

 

JOB GOAL:

 

Position is responsible for coaching junior high student athletes, organizing practices, teaching skill development, game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
  2. Must possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
  3. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
  4. Must be able to meet coaching requirements of the North Dakota High School Activities Association.
  5. Prior coaching experience preferred, but not required.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Teach fundamental sport skills and game strategies.
  2. Instruct players in the rules, regulations, and technique of sport.
  3. Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.
  4. Emphasize good sportsmanship and appropriate sports participant behaviors.
  5. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
  6. Models appropriate behavior towards players, officials and spectators. 
  7. Provide a supportive environment during practices and games.
  8. Keep track of athletic equipment and uniforms issued to your team. 
  9. Follow district transportation policies.
  10. Prepare facilities for all home games.
  11. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Activities Director.

  1. Athletic Director
  2. Building Principal
  3. Superintendent

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

This position constitutes an employee at will for the Stanley Community Public School District.
