JOB GOAL:
To provide a safe, clean environment for learning, which necessitates providing a link between jobs that are done in the environment every day to help ensure students’ ability to learn and thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a school is preferred, but not necessary.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Give timely attention to work orders.
- Comply with all regulatory mandates.
- Responsible for overall condition of building and grounds.
- Assignment of duties to other custodians or individuals employed by the school district.
- Approve overtime and keep record of overtime
- Order and maintain building supplies and maintenance of supply budget
- Dusts, sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, classrooms as needed, locker rooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, large group rooms, and office spaces.
- Cleans windows
- Empties trash and paper recycle containers.
- Cleans, scrubs, mops and re-stocks soap, paper, and sanitary products in the restrooms daily.
- Sanitizes restrooms and locker rooms weekly.
- Maintains building, performing minor and routine maintenance activities.
- Notifies the Building Administrator (or other direct supervisor) concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Cleans snow and debris from entryways.
- General maintenance of grounds.
- Additional job duties may be specified in individual buildings.
- Help and supervise Work Study program
- Clean concession area after activities
- Responsible for setup, tear down and cleanup of activities and events during the school year.
- Responsible for cleanup of the cafeteria
- Responsible for maintaining the display cases
- Any additional duties as assigned by administration

- Head Custodian
- Building Principal
- Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position constitutes an employee at will for the Stanley Public School.
- 60-day probation period
- 12 month employment
- Criminal history/background check required
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- Starting Salary:
- $17.64/hour minimum - depending on experience
- Fringe Benefit for health insurance, etc.
- 12 vacation days per year
- 10 Sick days per year accumulating to 40
- 8 Paid Holidays
