Elementary Music Teacher

Job Description

 

JOB GOAL:

 

The elementary music teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  2. Valid North Dakota Teaching License

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Teach K-6 Music classes.
  2. Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours as required.
  3. Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  4. Focus on making learning visible through effective student engagement.
  5. Plan, rehearse, and direct students in musical programs (3 per year).
  6. Effectively use computer and technology to support effective instruction and student learning.
  7. Evaluate and differentiate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

  1. Building Principal(s)

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

This position constitutes a certified position with the Stanley Community Public School District.
